Many Are Not Qualified
Many religious leaders claim to be Spiritual Directors, and those they ‘guide’ are proud of them. That is why a devotee would happily tell you, “I want to go and see my Spiritual Director.” Another would say, “…until I see my Spiritual Director.” And a third would say, “My Spiritual Director told me not to do so so thing.”
The truth is that those who are qualified to be Spiritual Directors are very few. Of all those who answer Spiritual Directors, not up to ten percent (10%) are qualified to answer such a holy and exalted title. Even among those called Mentors, not up to one percent (1%) are fit to be called Spiritual Directors. Many are not qualified because of the following reasons:
- They are ignorant of spiritual realities of life.
- Majority of them deny the works of the Holy Spirit. One devotee was telling how her Spiritual Director told her not to include anything prophetic message in the book she was writing. That is the problem. The very Spiritual Director who should encourage messages from the Holy Spirit is the very person blocking the will of God.
- No efforts are being to discover and develop the spiritual talents of the devotees and the congregations.
- They delight to make people ordinary members for their churches, whereas Jesus said, “Make them disciples of Truth.”
- They do not know the Truth about God and life. Instead, they have been fed with the figments of imagination, the fabrications of falsehood and the deceptions of the enemy.
- They are desecrating the churches and holy places with their beliefs and practices, even without the general public knowing it.
- They are not learned enough, because they did not study Spiritual Science.
- They lack spiritual knowledge and wisdom.
- They cannot communicate with Spirit.
- Their spiritual potentials have not being developed to a reliable level. Such spiritual talents and potentials include: telepathy, clairvoyance, clairaudience, pre-recognition, etc.
- They cannot interpret prophetic messages: dreams, visions, trances, etc.
- They cannot provide spiritual solutions to the problems of humanity.
- They cannot distinguish between holy and unholy things.
- They are busy messing up things, busy doing the wrong things.
- Majority of the reverend minsters of all religions and curches are busy discrimnating against members of other religion. Unknown to them, this discriminatory practice is an abomination to the Holy Spirit, and it pulls down, spiriually, whoever that engages in it.
So, how can they claim to be giving the right direction when they know neither the way or the destination?
How can they claim to be good teachers when they refused to be student?
Whomsoever that wants to be a Spiritual Director shall first study Spiritual Science. And in doing so, he has to study all religions. For a true minister must be worthy to minister to all nations.
How To Select a Spiritual Director
The practice of meditation as a spiritual exercise can be difficult, indeed, especially for beginners. That is why a guide, called Spiritual Director, is necessary.
- Spiritual directors are persons who are already well-experienced and well-traveled on the path of spirit. For best rest results, choose a director, who has had several encounters with God and has had several visits to heaven. It is both surprising and disappointing today, to have many reverend ministers who are called Spiritual Directors. Yet, they know nothing about the spiritual side of life. Such people should better resign from the exalted post, for their own sake and for the sake of the ignorant followers whom the directors mislead.
- Life in spirit and in truth is entirely a different thing, quite different from the everyday religious pieties and church routines, which are at best misleading and disabling.
- He should be knowledgeable in the reality and processes of mediation.
- He must have interacted and worked with the Angels of God on several occasions.
- He should be able to explain the statements of the spiritual masters, not based on their literal contents, but in the light of the Truth and as directed by the Holy Spirit.
- He must seek to control or dominate the devotee. Instead, he explains alternatives and allow the devotee to make his own choices as the devotee likes. God does not accept worship by compulsion, nor does He delight in the praises of ignorant hypocrite, who parade as religious leaders.
Practise regular meetings, prayers or teachings with the director, possibly once a month or preferably, once a week.
- You may have to first interact with a number of spiritual directors before you settle down with one.
- And what an ignorant and inexperienced director may wave off as evil or impossible, another competent director shall prove as true and beneficial. For example, I have met a devotee whose spiritual flight and experiences were stopped because the ministers told her that flying is evil. But when she engaged herself in my ministry, she soon recovered her talent of flying in spirit. Such a thing happened to St. Teresa of Ávila suffered for a while because her spiritual director taught her to ignore her vision as the work from the devil. But, when St. John of the Cross became her director, she was encouraged to explore vision as a way of communicating with God.
- I hereby warn you! Keep away from any Spiritual Director who does not believe that the Holy Spirit gives messages through prophecy, dreams, visions, trances, etc. Also, do not listen to any director who does not believe in anointing, deliverance and spritual work.
